Application Development

Any material that exhibits changes in the near infrared spectrum corresponding to changes in chemical or physical properties can generally be developed into an application on our FT-NIR instruments.
The accuracy and repeatability of an NIR application is based on the repeatability and reproducibility of the reference method used to determine the true values of the material under test.
Using high quality FT-NIR optical platforms in our instruments along with sampling methods that collect highly representative spectra of samples we can offer an excellent service for application development.
Typically 30-60 samples are collected that have an even distribution of constituents around the process target. These samples would be scanned on an instrument and then sent away for reference analysis at an accredited laboratory.
We would then take the sample spectra and corresponding reference analysis and use PLSplus/IQ software to reduce the data to a calibration model. This software and training is available to any of our customers who would like to maintain and produce their own calibration models.
Because of the stability of our optical decks, these calibration models can be simply transferred between our instruments (a slope or bias adjustment maybe necessary). It is possible to generate a model on a laboratory instrument prior to the installation of an online system. This significantly reduces commissioning time for the online system.
Novel sampling handling possibilities are also available from Q-Interline. We are always open to considering any requests no matter how simple or complicated.
