Generating Calibration Models

Partial Least Squares chemometric regression analysis is used to generate the calibration model for applications.

STEP 1. Collect 30-60 samples representative of the product composition distribution.

STEP 2. Collect the samples’ spectra on the FT-NIR instrument.

STEP 3. Analyse the samples by the appropriate reference methods. Collect repeatability data on the reference methods.

STEP 4. Combine the data and spectra in the PLSplus/IQ multivariate software.

STEP 5. Install the new calibration model file on the FT-NIR instrument.

STEP 6. Validate the new calibration model using samples not included in the data set used to make the model.
